APAC’s Proposed Map
APAC in its final act of civic engagement of 2021 has supported district voting in National City. APAC Co-Founder Mitz Lee and APAC Vice Chair and Redistricting Sub-Committee Chair Cynthia “CK” Suero-Gabler, with the support of the APAC Board, participated in a leadership team with San Diego Honorary Philippine Consul Audie DeCastro, Ditas Yamane and Florfina Arce both active community leaders in National City, to spearhead a movement to encourage the City of National City to adopt a resolution to move from at-large voting to district voting.
The District Voting Now movement picked up momentum quickly and held a press conference and community rally on December 4th with many in attendance. Immediately, community members and leaders began to flood letters of support to the National City Council in support of District Voting Now.
APAC has submitted our maps for National City’s review. Here is a copy of APAC’s Proposed Map #1
